How we built a rental search platform that serves 10k+ monthly visitors

The Dutch rental market is highly competitive and fragmented, which makes it difficult for home seekers to find suitable properties. Searching manually across multiple platforms takes a lot of time, and many potential tenants miss out on opportunities because they respond too late. With the help of AI we can now assist expats in their search automatically and in six different languages.

About the project

RentalFinder started as nothing more than an idea, that we bootstrapped ourselves. We turned it into a complete end to end solution that covers everything from the website to the backend.

We built a full rental search platform that does the heavy lifting for users. It automatically matches properties to their preferences and sends real-time updates through WhatsApp and email. The system runs on secure authentication and fully GDPR-compliant data practices, so users know their information is safe. Payments flow through a subscription setup powered by Stripe. Behind the scenes, an automated scraping and verification pipeline keeps listings fresh and accurate. New users get a personalized onboarding experience with tailored welcome emails, and the entire journey is tracked with analytics to keep improving the service.

Challenge

Getting six different languages into the platform is not easy, but we pulled it off.

We leaned on AI to set everything up and then had native speakers review the copy and make improvements where needed. It took work, yet it opened the door to many new opportunities. We are now far more visible to expats who do not speak Dutch well and much easier to find on Google.
