Forward deployed means you do not learn from the sidelines. You work inside client projects, close to the people who will use the system. This is a real traineeship: there is a curriculum, you have a dedicated mentor and you are judged on what you build and learn, not on the hours you are online.

About Datagrove
Datagrove is an AI-native development agency in Amsterdam, founded in 2025 by Sion Coolwijk. We build embedded AI systems for companies: AI harnesses, company brains and data warehouses that agents run on. Websites, platforms and mobile apps we build AI-native from the ground up. We work with an interdisciplinary team from an office on the Herengracht.
The traineeship is built around one idea: you learn the craft fastest by doing it, with someone next to you who watches along. That is why you work on real projects from the start and follow a curriculum that fills the gaps.
What you do
You join the team that builds AI harnesses, company brains, data warehouses, platforms and apps. One week you set up a data pipeline, the next you build an agent or work on a mobile app.
- Work through the curriculum: from git and code review to data modelling, agents and evaluations.
- Build on client projects, from first setup to go-live.
- Have your work reviewed weekly by a senior engineer.
- Join client conversations and translate what is needed technically.
- Share what you learned, so the curriculum improves for whoever comes after you.
Who we are looking for
We are not looking for years of experience, we are looking for someone who loves to build and learns fast. You have the basics in place and are curious about every new AI tool. More importantly: you dare to just try things and take feedback on board to get better.
- You are still studying or recently graduated, in a technical or data field.
- You prefer building full-stack applications, or are willing to learn.
- You have experience with React, TypeScript, Python, SQL or other modern tooling.
- You are comfortable with git, or willing to learn it.
- You enjoy working with Claude or ChatGPT every day.
- You are critical at the right moments, and a hard worker too.
